What is In Vitro Fertilization with Double Donation?

This is an In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) using gametes from an egg donor and a sperm donor to generate a blastocyst embryo (J5 or J6) that will implant in the recipient patient. Gamete donation in Spain is anonymous. Donor selection is based on physical resemblance to you, and we perform a genetic matching between donors to exclude more than 300 genetic diseases.

At the same time, we prepare your endometrium to receive the embryo under the best conditions. Double donation is required in cases where you have ovarian problems, either due to age or other reasons, and for sperm donation, there are many reasons. Double donation is the assisted reproduction technique that offers the highest success rate.

When is double donor IVF necessary?

This treatment is recommended when:

You are a carrier, you and/or your partner, of a genetic disease

After ovarian surgery or due to early ovarian insufficiency and incompetent sperm

Pregnancy is not achieved after several IVF cycles with your own embryos

Your age and your partner's age are too high

What does In Vitro Fertilization with donor eggs consist of?

FIRST VISIT

It all starts with a first visit completely free with a specialist in PMA, which can be done in person at our clinic or remotely through video.

DIAGNOSTIC

Once the exams and corresponding diagnosis have been completed, we create a detailed file containing the physical characteristics of the recipient and, if applicable, your partner. This way, when you have made the decision to start your treatment, our OVODON team can immediately begin the search for a young woman aged 18 to 34 whose hair color, eye color, skin color, physical constitution, or blood type are compatible.

PREPARATION OF GAMETE DONATION

Once we find the donor that best suits you, we will inform you of the date when we will start the donor stimulation treatment. For the chosen donor, we will collect and freeze sperm samples. For you, if you wish and if it is possible, we can opt for a transfer during your own natural cycle.

FERTILIZATION and CULTURE

When the donor is ready, we proceed to retrieve a limited number of her eggs and immediately prepare them in our IVF laboratory. We fertilize them with the donor's sperm and place them in a high-tech incubator that allows us to monitor their development until they reach the blastocyst stage, which typically occurs after five days. For your safety and that of your baby, we usually transfer only one embryo on the fifth day of development. In the event that we obtain more than one embryo, we generally cryopreserve them for future attempts. Depending on your personal situation, NatuVitro guarantees you a certain number of blastocysts.

EMBRYO TRANSFER

The long-awaited moment has arrived, the transfer is a magical, fast, generally painless moment, performed by the same doctor who has followed the entire treatment: at NatuVitro, if you have a partner, they can be by your side during this special moment. Blastocyst Guarantee

In some Assisted Reproduction centers, a specific number of eggs per treatment is still proposed. But nowadays, in the most advanced clinics, we go one step further and offer you the guarantee that you will have a specific number of blastocysts.

What advantage does this approach have?

We call a blastocyst the embryo that we have been able to monitor its development for five days until it is in its pre-implantation stage in the future mother's uterus. That is, we know that its morphology, maturation, and evolution have been correct. The sum of these factors is indicative of a good prognosis.

In the traditional approach, having a specific number of eggs does not guarantee that you will have one or more viable embryos, as not all eggs survive laboratory procedures. In fact, naturally, only 50% of embryos reach the blastocyst stage.

In other words, at NatuVitro, we will have used all the eggs that have been necessary to guarantee you a specific number of blastocysts for transfer. Depending on the treatment, we vitrify the blastocysts that we do not implant in the first attempt at -196 degrees so that they remain intact and available for when you need them.

How much does an IVF treatment with egg donation cost?

According to Spanish law, egg donation, like any organ or biological tissue donation, is anonymous and altruistic. This means that neither the donor nor the recipient can know the identity of the other person. Once you are known to your doctor at NatuVitro, along with your partner if you have one, and your donor, it will be your doctor's responsibility to ensure the maximum compatibility between both parties, as well as the safety and well-being of both.

According to Spanish law, sperm donation, like any donation of organs or biological tissue, is anonymous, voluntary, and altruistic. This means that neither the donor nor the recipient can know the identity of the other person. While it is possible to offer minimal compensation for the inconveniences caused by the donation, this donation remains an act of solidarity.
